Canceling or Changing an Appointment

You may cancel or reschedule an appointment within the same testing window by doing the following before noon of the second business day prior to the scheduled exam. Please note that you cannot cancel or reschedule an appointment after noon of the second business day prior to the scheduled exam. For example, to reschedule an exam for Tuesday, you must notify the test center by noon on the Friday before the Tuesday appointment.

  • Go online to www.prometric.com/SOA to cancel or reschedule your exam appointment; or
  • Call the test center where you are scheduled to take the exam. Notification must be left directly with the administrator at the test center. Do NOT leave a message on the answering machine—this does not constitute official notification; or
  • Special needs candidates must call the Special Conditions Coordinator to reschedule or cancel.

NOTE: A $35 rescheduling fee must be paid directly to Prometric if the test is rescheduled between 30 days and 49 hours of the appointment. Candidates may only reschedule an appointment within the same testing window.

Exam fees or registrations cannot be transferred from one session to a future session.

The rescheduling rules and associated fees are determined by and administered through Prometric. Registration fees mandated by SOA/CAS/CIA are separate and are detailed in the Exam Fees section.
